Home is where... The office is.

Dear SWLS family,
It is often said that “better is the enemy of good.” I should have remembered that as I waited impatiently for all of the necessary information to send the “perfect” email. Over the last few days, I have come to realize that expediency in a pandemic is a virtue and sometimes a necessity.
So...cutting to the chase - I will be offering telemedicine visits starting Monday, March 23. The plan is to have visits at their previously scheduled time - just virtually. For those who need a visit scheduled - just email or call me at 508 801 7018 and one will be arranged for you. Thus, if you have an appointment Monday, March 23 at 9 am - you will still have that appointment but you will have it as a “virtual” visit. We will talk and see each other via an internet enabled communication platform. I am just not sure which platform yet. The insurance companies and health systems are racing to make platforms available, but as of yet, I do not have an operational system. I WILL BY MONDAY! And as soon as I do - specific access instructions and appointment reminders will be sent to you.
We will have our regularly scheduled Support Group on Wednesday night, March 25, at 7 pm and we will have it as a Zoom. The link is available upon request to prevent "Zoom bombing."
At 7 pm or a few minutes before, you simply click on this link and “magic” you will be connected to me and the smiling faces and voices of the SWLS family. This is our usual Support Group - it is just taking a different form. Please conduct yourself accordingly. Access the group from a quiet and private space and keep what happens between you and the group.
Of course if you need anything at anytime - call me! 508 801 7018
If it isn’t urgent and you want to email - that is fine as well. adam@massweightloss.com
If you are having a life threatening issue - call 911 or visit the nearest Emergency Room.
Dr. Susan Cetlin, our esteemed team Psychologist, counselor, and support - wants you to know - she is available and she has telemedicine capabilities. If you want or need to talk to Dr. Cetlin - she offers remote access - and she is very happy to help. Do not hesitate to utilize her services. At times like these - we can all benefit from having someone to speak with. Her contact info is available upon request.
Thus concludes the “official” portion of this missive. If you want to read on for some thoughts and inspiration - you are welcome to. I will not be insulted if you do not.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. Viktor Frankl

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. Calvin Coolidge
Do you see what I am saying - bit of a mixed metaphor, forgive me Mr. Caras my beloved AP English teacher - but do you?
There are eight billion people on this earth and we are all in this together. One of my favorite lessons is that “it’s not about me and it’s not about you. It’s about us, and not just some of us. It’s about all of us.”
And one of my favorite quotes from the world of sports “if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far - go as a team.” Doc Rivers
So I ask you, really - what’s your hurry?
Hang in there. Stay healthy. Stay strong. Stay together. Wash your hands.
My best to you all and remember - anytime for anything.
Adam
